Father's Day BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

It's father's day today, which means man food. I'm talking chicken wings, cheesy things, and barbecue. My mom and I whipped up a quick-and-easy crock pot recipe for barbecue pulled pork sandwiches that I seriously recommend for anyone who has to feed a large group of guys.

You will need:

One large raw pork roast
Your favorite barbecue sauce
A large crock pot
3 hours to let it cook

Start off by cutting the pork into large chunks and putting them all in the crock pot.

Next, pour your favorite barbecue sauce all over the meat. I mean really drench it!

Of course, feel free to make your own barbecue sauce from scratch if you've got the time. But, when you're short on that, bottled sauce works perfectly fine. We used KC Masterpiece.

Next, turn the crock pot on high and wait for 3 hours.

Once you've waited and your guests/family are complaining that the delicious smell is making them hungry, start pulling your chunks out of the pot and shredding them with a fork and knife.

If you're feeling particularly fat-conscious, I recommend trimming away any extra fat lumps from the meat during this process. Also, if you have a fat separater, feel free to run the pork juices through it and pour it back over the meat once you're finished shredding.

Mmmm......pork fat.....

Once you've shredded and strained all the fat that you can, add the meat and the liquid back into the pot and cover it with more sauce.

Wait an excruciating five minutes for the extra barbecue sauce to soak in.

Then, grab a bun, plop on gobs of ooey-gooey pork, top with pickles, cole slaw, Frank's Red Hot, or any other sauce that you see fit, and enjoy!

If you're wondering what that yellow cheesy substance is, it's an amazing recipe for super-easy cheesy potatoes. Coming soon!!
